Privacy Notice

How Nenwa Publishing Limited protects information shared through the RISE website.

Respect Identity. Stop Exclusion. (RISE) is a school and community conversation initiative inspired by the young adult novel Smart and Dangerous. This notice explains how information is handled when you use our website and forms.

Last updated: 10 October 2026

1. Who is responsible for your information?

The organisation responsible for deciding how personal information submitted through this website is used (the data controller) is NENWA PUBLISHING LIMITED, company number 17047025, registered in England and Wales.

Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
Privacy contact: hello@respectidentitystopexclusion.com.

2. What information do we collect?

Contact enquiries: your name, email address, selected role, any optional organisation or school name, and the message you choose to send. Please avoid including information about individual pupils, children or sensitive personal circumstances.

Email updates: your email address, optional area of interest, which sign-up page you used, and the confirmation you gave to receive RISE updates. The form is restricted to people who confirm they are aged 18 or over.

Technical information: our hosting and form providers may process limited technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, submission times and security or anti-spam signals when delivering and protecting the website or forms.

3. Why do we use this information and what is our lawful basis?

  • Replying to enquiries: to read, manage and respond to your message, relying on our legitimate interests in communicating with people who contact us and supporting school and community engagement. If an enquiry concerns a proposed agreement, we may also take steps at your request before entering a contract.
  • RISE email updates: to register and, when a newsletter service is introduced, send occasional RISE news, educational resources and community announcements. We rely on the consent you actively give when signing up. Signing up is optional and separate from sending an enquiry.
  • Operating and protecting the website: to help provide a functional, secure website and reduce misuse of our forms, relying on our legitimate interests in service operation and security.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use enquiry details to add people automatically to the updates list. We do not use this website to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Who handles the information?

We use Cloudflare to host and protect the website and to route email sent to our RISE address, Formspree to receive and store form submissions, Google Gmail to receive and store incoming email and correspondence, and Brevo to deliver outgoing email sent from our professional RISE address. Access is restricted to authorised people administering RISE on behalf of Nenwa Publishing Limited.

Links to social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, take you to services with their own privacy notices and practices.

5. International processing

Cloudflare, Formspree, Google and Brevo operate internationally. Personal information may be processed or accessed outside the UK. Where restricted international transfers are involved, appropriate legal safeguards must apply under UK data protection law. You can ask us for more information about the arrangements relevant to your information using our privacy contact above.

6. How long do we keep information?

We follow the UK GDPR storage limitation principle. We keep personal information only for as long as it is genuinely needed for the specific purpose for which it was collected, and we delete or anonymise it once that purpose ends. We do not retain information indefinitely or solely because it may be useful in the future.

Contact enquiries: we keep the information only while we need it to respond, address any reasonable follow-up, or deal with a related matter. Once it is no longer needed, we delete the correspondence and associated submission records. We review outstanding enquiries and remove records which are no longer necessary.

Email updates: we keep the minimum information needed to manage your subscription while you remain subscribed and the service is operating. If you withdraw consent or unsubscribe, we stop sending updates and remove your details from the active subscribers list promptly. We may retain only the minimum information needed to respect your opt-out (for example, an email address on a restricted do-not-contact list).

Legal requirements: a limited record may be retained for longer if a specific legal obligation, regulatory requirement or legal claim makes it necessary. We restrict such retention to the relevant information and period, and delete or anonymise it when the reason ends.

Where information is held: we apply these principles to our copies of form submissions in Formspree and notification emails or correspondence in Gmail, as well as any exported records. Brevo may also process delivery and security logs for outgoing email. Our providers may retain necessary technical records under their applicable arrangements, and we review settings available to us.

If you ask us to delete your information, we will consider your request under applicable data protection law and explain if any limited information must be retained. Contact hello@respectidentitystopexclusion.com.

7. Your rights and choices

You can ask to see your personal information, have incorrect information corrected, request erasure or restriction where applicable, and exercise other rights available under UK data protection law. You have a right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent to RISE email updates at any time, without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal.

To exercise your rights or withdraw from updates, email hello@respectidentitystopexclusion.com with your request. We will verify requests where necessary. Any promotional email updates we send will include a convenient way to unsubscribe. You can also withdraw consent at any time by contacting us directly.

If you are unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.

8. Children and young people

RISE provides information for schools and communities, but the contact and update sign-up forms are intended for adults aged 18 or over. We do not ask for information identifying pupils. Young people should ask a parent, carer, teacher or other trusted adult to contact us. If you think information about a child has been submitted in error, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

The current RISE website does not intentionally load advertising scripts, audience-tracking analytics or non-essential cookies. The website and form providers may use strictly necessary security or service technologies to make the website and contact forms work. These do not require cookie consent where a legal exemption applies, but visitors should be informed about them. Social-media links lead to other websites; their own cookie and privacy practices apply once you visit them. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. If we introduce optional analytics, embedded social media or other non-essential cookies, we will update this information and obtain consent before using them where required.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our activities, suppliers or practices change. We will publish the revised date here and tell people about material changes where appropriate. For any questions, please email hello@respectidentitystopexclusion.com.
